Duration: 4 months
Project Details:
The Kirribilli Aqueduct was a short but very complex job which was completed within budget and on time.
The original pipe was constructed in circa 1968. Its approximately 133 meters in length. The aqueduct is located behind several waterfront apartment blocks, across from the iconic Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Which meant communication with the local community was essential. Through the years the condition of the aqueduct had deteriorated and several patch repairs had been carried out but it was evident that the complete aqueduct needed replacing.
Works comprise of:
- Corroded pipe removal
- Concrete rehabilitation
- Manhole base rehabilitation
- Installation of stainless steel pipes
- Sealing and wrapping of new pipes with fibreglass denso wrap.
- Coordinating barge and land crews
There were many difficulties between the location of the work as well as the tide schedule but as always, the works were successfully competed with 100% safety record.
